Foothill Ranch was a census-designated place and was incorporated into Lake Forest in 2000. Homes here were first built in the late 1980s through the 1990s. There are 30 subdivisions with around 2,600 detached homes as well as three condo complexes with 466 units all together. According to a 2000 census, 70 percent of the units are owner-occupied.
Saddleback Unified School District offers excellent education with highly ranked facilities like Foothill Ranch Elementary, Rancho Santa Margarita Intermediate School, and Trabuco Hills High School. Families are able to choose private schooling as well with facilities like Abiding Savior Lutheran School, Escalade Academy, Lake Forest Montessori School, and Arbor Christian School. There are many colleges and universities within an hour’s drives in cities like Irvine.
Residents here are in walking distance to the well known and high end Foothill Ranch Town Center. There are also hotel accommodations here as well as a movie theater. This region has many trails and this neighborhood is near the Whiting Ranch Wilderness Park which offers 17 miles of trails for horseback riding, biking, and hiking.
Lake Forest is a city in Orange County that was once known as El Toro. Home construction began around the mid 1960s although some homes have been built recently in the 2000s. There is a variety of real estate for residents from condos to detached homes. Lake Forest was named for its man-made lakes known by their associations: the Lake Forest Beach and Tennis Club; and the Sun and Sail Club. Each club offers clubhouses, swimming pools, volleyball courts, gyms, and much more.
